JAGUAR E-TYPE
Convertible 4.2 Series One (1966)
UK Car
This RHD UK car had been in a dismantled state for many years when it was purchased in 2015. The bodywork was in a poor condition and required a full restoration.
A total nut and bolt restoration was carried out over a five year period. The main monocoque body was restored utilising a rotisserie jig with panels replaced where necessary, including, both floor structures, inner/outer sills etc.. A photographic record of this work is available.
New front frames and a new bonnet were fitted. Doors and boot lid repaired and reskinned before fitting, care being taken in the panel fit and gapping. Paint preparation and spraying by Long Lane Garage, Dalton-in-Furness, Cumbria.
All mechanical components have been restored/renewed including a full engine rebuild to fast road spec, gearbox and diff rebuild, front and rear suspension rebuild. New wiring loom and all chrome work re-chromed, full new interior trim including new hood.
The car has only covered 3,000 miles since rebuild with the engine just run-in and is now ready to use and enjoy.
Please note that the car was registered by DVLA as a rebuilt historic vehicle on 1st October 2019 with the age-related registration ABW 713D and under their own reference number.
The car however displays all the matching original numbers as confirmed by the Heritage certificate supplied.
